Terms of service

By accessing or using the openagent.id website and related content (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

OpenAgentID includes open-source repositories. Licensing for any specific repository, package, or dependency is governed by the license file and notices in that repository.

These Terms apply to the website and any hosted web experiences provided at openagent.id. They do not replace or override open-source licenses that apply to code distributed through repositories.

You may use the Services for lawful purposes consistent with these terms.

You may implement the Open Agent Specification in your own software subject to the terms of the applicable open-source licenses for any referenced code.

You may not use the Services in any way that violates applicable law.

You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or related systems.

You may not use the Services to distribute malware, conduct phishing, or engage in abuse.

You may not misrepresent your affiliation with the OpenAgentID project or any affiliated organization.

Project names, logos, and brand assets may be protected by trademark or similar rights. Use of marks should follow published brand guidance where available.

Open-source licensing and trademark rights are separate. Trademark rights do not prevent independent implementations of an open specification.

Unless otherwise specified, contributions to open-source repositories are governed by the contributor terms and license notices in the relevant repository.

The Services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

You are responsible for the security of your own key material and identity systems, including operational practices and threat modeling.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from these terms will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

We may update these terms from time to time by posting an updated version on this page.

Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
