Terms of Service

By accessing or using the openagent.id website, documentation, SDKs, or related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

The Open Agent Specification, reference SDKs, and documentation are released under the Apache License 2.0, unless otherwise specified in the repository.

Your use of open-source components is governed by their respective licenses. These Terms of Service apply to the website and hosted services, not to the open-source code itself.

You may use the Services for any lawful purpose consistent with these terms.

You may implement the Open Agent Specification in your own software without restriction, subject to the open-source license terms.

You may use the documentation, examples, and code samples for commercial and non-commercial projects.

You may not use the Services to engage in any activity that violates applicable law.

You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or related systems.

You may not use the Services to distribute malware, conduct phishing, or engage in any form of abuse.

You may not misrepresent your affiliation with the OpenAgent project or L1fe Labs.

The "OpenAgent" name, logo, and brand assets are trademarks of L1fe Labs. Use of these marks must comply with the brand guidelines in our press kit.

The Open Agent Specification itself is open-source and may be implemented by anyone. Trademark rights do not restrict specification implementation.

Contributions to the project are governed by the Contributor License Agreement (CLA) in each repository.

The Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

You use the SDKs, cryptographic primitives, and identity infrastructure at your own risk. You are responsible for the security of your own key material and identity systems.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, L1fe Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be announced on the website at least 30 days before they take effect.

Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
